Looking after yourself in Lockdown – 5 simple steps from COACH London

November 2020

At COACH London we recognise and understand the importance of physical and mental wellbeing. This is ever more important as we live through a second lockdown in England and with other limitations on what we can do throughout the UK.

1.    Sunlight.

As the nights are drawing in it is essential for your wellbeing to get what daylight and sunshine there is. Wrap up warmly and take an early morning walk or enjoy your lunch outside.

2.    Social.

As far as we are allowed following Government guidelines, try to meet up with a friend for a socially distanced walk outside or make a call to friends and family to remain connected.

3.    Screen time.

Balance the time you spend looking at your screen and take regular breaks away from it throughout the day.

4.    Stand up and move.

Move away from your screen and get up from your sofa. Stand up, stretch, go for a walk. Do this regularly throughout the day.

5.    Sleep.

An essential function to allow your body and mind to recharge. Most adults require 7-8 hours a night. We suggest that you exercise earlier in the day, abstain from caffeine, large meals and alcohol in the hours leading up to bedtime. Create a comfortable temperature and low light levels in your bedroom. Even better consider a ban on phones, tablets and TV devices in your bedroom.

The COACH team are continuing to work remotely during this period of lockdown and if you would like to get in touch or have any queries at all please email us on info@coachlondon.uk

We hope you stay healthy and well and look forward to welcoming you back to COACH London as soon as we are able.
