The benefits of infrared saunas

We live by the Coach ethos of aligning your mindset, body and lifestyle to reach that perfect wellness sweet spot. Total well-being needs a holistic approach giving balance to all aspects of your life physically and mentally, so we advocate numerous supplementary benefits such as meditation, deep tissue massage, sleep management, bespoke nutritional advice and personal mobility programmes.

In our quest to support our physiological, psychological and environmental needs, we have recognised an opportunity to add to our supplementary benefits and take them to the next level, by installing infrared saunas in our changing rooms.

So, how do they work?

Unlike standard saunas, infrared saunas actually don’t heat the air around you. Instead they use infrared lamps to warm your body directly. This direct heat penetrates the body more deeply than the standard warmed air technique, allowing you to experience a more intense sweat at a lower temperature.

The unique infrared sauna environment triggers the body to produce Heat Shock Proteins (HSP) which are also referred to as “Molecular Chaperones” as they produce an intracellular community rich in structured proteins and free from harmful free radicals. In addition, research around the effects of infrared light and heat on health, longevity and recovery is growing exponentially with benefits including improved regulated sleep, increased cellular regeneration, muscle soreness and joint pain relief, immune system efficacy, improved circulation, as well as stress and fatigue reduction.

Naturally, Coach has strict guidelines regarding the use of these infrared saunas so please ask your coach or our concierge desk for further information and guidance.
